The Gift

Interactive HD-video installation, no sound, 2011

The visitor is sitting at a table in front of the projection screen. The table seems to continue into the video. The boundaries between reality and illusion dissolve. On the other side of the table – in the video - sits a person with a gift package. S/he offers it to the visitor.

When the visitor reaches for the gift, it is handed over. Then the next person sits at the table offering a gift package. If the visitor doesn‘t take the gift, s/he won’t get out of the loop.

The content of the gift packages remains open to the phantasy of the visitor watching the face of the person offering the gift.
